What is Microblading?Microblading is the artistic, semi-permanent form of eyebrow makeup that originated in Asia. The simulated hair strokes are placed in a realistic hair growth pattern that mimics your own. My art is performed with a top of the line stylus Microblading tool. Unlike traditional tattooing, which uses a machine, Microblading artists hand draw each hair to match the color, growth pattern and coarseness of your eyebrows. The result? Beautiful, flawless, natural looking eyebrows.

How long is the appointment?Microblading takes 2-3 hours. This process includes time for anesthetic, paper work, before pictures, mapping, designing, and brow measurements. Then concluded with the actual Microblading artistry. Next we will take after pictures. Lastly, we will go over aftercare verbally, the written aftercare protocol document will go home with you.

What is the difference between Microblading and traditional body tattoos? The purpose of cosmetic tattooing is to enhance the natural features of a client. Microblading is softer, more subtle and natural-looking. Body tattoos use ink while Microblading procedures involve pigments. These pigments are designed to gently fade over time. Fading is desired as it allows the artist to make changes to color and shape over the years as your natural coloration and facial changes occur.
-
Does it hurt?A topical anesthetic is applied during the procedure in order to ensure maximum comfort. This is typically 5% Lidocaine Cream.
-
How long does Microblading last?Microbladed eyebrows typically can last 1 to 3 years. This depends on skin type, health conditions, outdoor activity and care. At this point, when you feel ready you will need to schedule a color boost appointment. Once they are healed, for longevity please wear sun block and avoid enzymatic products (retinol, glycolic, salicylic, and hydroquinone) on the brows and forehead completely.
-
Who is ineligible for Microblading?Microblading is not recommended for clients who are or have any of the following: Pregnant or Nursing Diabetic Undergoing Chemotherapy (consult with your doctor) Viral infections (diseases) Had botox within a 3 week period of Microblading appointment Had an organ transplant Epilepsy Sick with a cold or flu like virus Used Accutane in the past year If you have extremely oily skin, the Microblading technique is NOT ideal for you as the oil produced will cause your ‘hair strokes’ to heal much softer with a powdery look.

What is the aftercare?MICRO-PIGMENTATION AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS The day of treatment: Wash or gently wipe, 1st hour after procedure After the procedure, every 15 min 3x gently cleanse the area with gentle cleanse to remove any excess lymph fluid. Removing this fluid prevents hardening of the lymphatic fluids. Days 1-2: Gently Blot with clean tissue or paper towel Continue to blot the day of and after the procedure to make sure all lymphatic fluid seeping has resolved. This will eliminate the crusting and dryness which can lead to poor retention. Days 1-10: Moisturize Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment (aquaphor) provided by your esthetician with a clean q-tip and spread it across the treated area. Be sure not to over apply, as this will suffocate your skin and delay healing. Apply the ointment every 3-4 hours days 1- 10. Keeping this thin layer of aquaphor on your brows will keep them sealed and moist. If they dry out this can lead to poor retention. Do not get them wet with water, wash your face with a washcloth for the first ten days after the procedure. Important Tips: Please follow for best results! Use a fresh pillowcase while you sleep Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking will cause scarring or loss of pigment/color. No facials, botox, chemical peels, or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks Avoid hot sweaty exercise for one week Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after the procedure, including tanning beds Wear a hat when outdoors Avoid long hot showers for first 10 days, do not put face directly in water stream of shower Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days. Avoid swimming and going under water, lakes, and hot tubs for first 10 days Avoid make-up and sunscreen on the treated area DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Avoid smoking as this depletes vitamin C in skin and interferes with healing

-
What will my brows look like during the healing process?Directly after your service the pigment will begin to oxidize, therefore turning darker. The color healed will be 20-30% lighter than during the first week where it will look pretty dark. Day 5-10 expect your brows to shed a layer of flaky skin. This can cause the brows to look patchy or uneven (don’t stress! This is only temporary). Two to three weeks post procedure you could go through the ‘ghosting phase’, this is where brows are still healing; they will bloom and reappear! After four weeks your eyebrows will have lightened and softened. Continue to follow after care precisely for optimum results.
-
Can I work out or sweat? Please refrain from hot yoga, sauna and the steam room. Workouts that create a lot of sweat should be stopped for 1 week. Light workouts are fine after one week.
-
Will I still need to wax and tweeze my brows?Yes. Your hair will continue to grow; you will still need wax or tweeze any unwanted hair.
